Blood Transfusion Institute of Vojvodina

The Blood Transfusion Institute of Vojvodina is a highly specialized health care institution that has been collecting, storing, testing and preparing blood components for more than six decades, as well as carrying out laboratory analyzes necessary for the successful and safe use of blood transfusion. Collecting the necessary amounts of blood and blood components for the treatment of injured and diseased persons takes place with the unselfish cooperation of human citizens in the territory of Novi Sad, South Backa District and other parts of Vojvodina.

The constant activity of the Blood Transfusion Institute of Vojvodina on the development of quality of services and products is based on the latest scientific achievements, the improvement of the existing and the introduction of new modern work methodologies. The Institute transfers its knowledge and experience to students,  internship specialists as well to all employees by teaching and scientific activity in the field of transfusion medicine.

Principles of quality policy determinates continuous, timely and efficient supply of healthcare institutions and patients with safe blood and blood components and achieves the highest quality of all laboratory, production, technical and development activities by:

• modern equipment, good organization, efficient quality system assurance of blood and blood components,  services and analyzes
• increasing the percentage of blood donation and providing sufficient amounts of blood for the users
• fostering relations with blood donors, collaborators and the Red Cross
• creation of skilled and capable personnel,
• continuous monitoring of work processes,
• continuous review and improvement of the quality of services and products,
• improving quality in the choice of suppliers and establishing partnerships with them.
